You Don’t Mess Around with Letterstime

by Michael Halter (aka SeaTurtle Prince)

East Front's got Hindenburg
West Front Falkenhayn
High Seas Fleet got big Baron Letters
He's a dice-rollin' son of a gun
Yeah, he's tall and thin, and the Kaiser's kin
But you know he'll win the Iron Cross
And when the admirals all get together at night
You know they all call Letters "boss", just because
And they say

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't toss the dice in the jj system
Unless your Avatar can swim

Well outta north Rosyth harbour come an Englishman
He say i'm lookin' for some Huns to shoot
On BC Queen Mary
My name is Freddy Sturdee
But down home they call me Duke
Yeah i'm lookin' for the Admiral of the Scouting Group
He drivin' Derfflinger front of the pack
Last month he sank all my cruisers
And I ain’t no loser
So I come to get my cruisers back
And everybody say jack (tar) don't you know

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't toss the dice in the jj system
Unless your Avatar can swim

Well a hush fell over the bridge room
First Scouting come boppin' in off the street
And when the shootin' was done
The only ships that weren’t sinking
Were the ones back with the Grand Fleet
The Germans shot ‘em in a hundred places
And they GT’ed a couple more
And you better believe
They sung a different kind of story
With all the battlecruisers on the sea floor

Now they say

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't toss the dice in the jj system
Unless your Avatar can swim

Yeah, Admiral Fisher’s in a funk
Cause his favorite ships got sunk
Now he knows what not to do
If all you got is thin-skinned I’s behind you

Yeah you don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't toss the dice in the jj system
Unless your Avatar can swim
